Custom Look & Feel
The orchestration layer that ties ECS Pro together. Bundle a Color Scheme, Font Scheme, logo, and custom CSS into one conditional rule that activates automatically — based on page conditions, time of day, or season.
What a Look contains
Navigate to Site Settings → Custom Looks to create and manage Looks. Each Look is a named rule that can activate any combination of:
| Component | Requires |
|---|---|
| Color Scheme | Color Schemes module |
| Font Scheme | Font Schemes module |
| Alternative Logo | Alternative Site Logos module |
| Custom CSS | — (works independently) |
Components are optional. A Look that only sets a Color Scheme is perfectly valid.
Display conditions
Each Look has its own set of display conditions. The Look activates when the current page matches any of them:
| Condition type | Examples |
|---|---|
| Entire site | Always active (global default) |
| Page / Post | Specific post by ID |
| Post Type | All posts, all products |
| Taxonomy Term | Category, tag, custom taxonomy |
| Special pages | 404, Search results, Archive, Author, Date |
Time intervals
Optionally restrict a Look to specific hours, days, or date ranges. Time intervals stack on top of display conditions — both must match for the Look to activate.
- Hours of the day (e.g. 20:00 – 08:00, crossing midnight)
- Days of the week
- Date ranges (e.g. 1 Dec – 6 Jan, crossing the year boundary)
- Evaluated server-side in the configured WordPress timezone
Priority and toggles
Looks are evaluated in order — the first matching Look wins. You can reorder them by drag-and-drop and toggle individual Looks on or off without deleting them.
Use cases
- Christmas campaign: a "Holiday" Look active 1 Dec – 6 Jan activates a red/green color scheme, seasonal font, and holiday logo — zero template edits, automatically reverts in January.
- Sub-brand sections: pages under a specific category get a different color palette and logo.
- Automatic night mode: a dark scheme between 20:00 and 08:00 — no JS toggle, no cookie, no client-side flicker.
- Agency client delivery: package a client's brand into a Look; toggle it on or off for QA and sign-off.
