There is a point where visual editing becomes slower than direct editing. JSON PowerEdit exists for that point: when you know the setting you need, but the Elementor panel makes you click through too many layers to reach it.

What it adds

JSON PowerEdit lets you inspect and edit widget settings JSON directly from the Elementor panel. It provides two modes:

  • Raw mode, a textarea for paste-and-replace workflows.
  • Tree mode, a collapsible view for navigating nested data.

Before applying changes, ECS validates the JSON. If the payload is malformed, the widget is not modified.

When it is useful

  • Copying a complex style value from one widget to another.
  • Bulk-editing repeater items more quickly than through the panel.
  • Debugging why two widgets with similar settings render differently.
  • Versioning widget settings outside the visual UI.

Raw mode workflow

  1. Select the source widget.
  2. Open JSON PowerEdit.
  3. Copy the relevant JSON value or object.
  4. Select the target widget.
  5. Paste the value in the matching place.
  6. Apply and review the preview.

Tree mode workflow

Tree mode is better when the widget data is deeply nested. Expand the object, find the setting, edit the value inline, and apply. Accessibility mode enables additional expand/collapse controls and keyboard navigation.

Shortcuts and safety

  • Esc closes without applying.
  • Ctrl/Cmd + Enter applies changes.
  • Malformed JSON is rejected before it reaches the widget.

The safest team workflow is still simple: duplicate the page or test in staging, make one edit at a time, and verify the rendered output. JSON PowerEdit is fast because it is direct; that is also why it rewards careful use.
